“And then
He told them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the Good
News to everyone, everywhere.’”(Mark 16:15,
NLT)
This Summer,
God is giving us an open door to live out Mark 16:15. As we
head into this time of the year, we have a great
opportunity to make inroads into the lives of our families,
friends, neighbors and co-workers to reach them with the
love and hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
First Baptist Church has so many activities planned this
Summer that are great environments to invite people to a
“non-churchy-type” activity. From hymn-sings to bowling to
baseball to a party in the park, there are lots of things
happening for which we can gather together.
“Family of
Summer” Why are we
calling it that?
Well for two reasons. The first is because the first
Wednesday of each month (June, July, August) we will be
setting aside time to spend together with our families.
There won’t be any activities on campus, but instead we’ll
be gathering in homes to be a “family” during this busy
season. The second is because our Wednesday night
activities in July give us an opportunity to spend time
together as a church family. Hence, the name: The Summer of
Family.
I want to encourage you to remain faithful during the
Summer months. We are gearing up for an exciting and big
Fall, but we must maintain our momentum throughout June and
July to hit it out of the park in August.
