"The Voice"
Wednesday 04/09/2008
Two weeks
ago we met as an Executive Council to pray and
discuss a lot of different things about the direction
of our church. In the midst of that meeting, Mike
Gonzalez talked about finding “our voice” as a
church. He was referring to the unique design and
plan that God has for us as a church. What is it that
no one else does or will do? Why has God put us here
for such a time as this? If we were to close our
doors, how would the community be impacted?
I loved the concept of “the voice.” What is our “voice” in the community? God has just been reminding me of that phrase over and over. What is our “voice”?
Providentially, God had us begin a series “Connected” to talk about being connected to God and others. Like we talked about yesterday, hearing God’s voice is critical to the nature of being a Christ follower.
So here’s the deal. We need to find our “voice.” God already knows what He wants it to be. So, let’s ask Him and listen for His voice to share with us ours.
The week of April 27-May 3 we are going to have “Vision Week”. We have talked a little bit about the vision God has for us, but we need to set aside some time to seek His face, listen to His voice, talk about it, and brainstorm as to what our voice might be.
I am very excited about this season in our ministry. I look forward to serving alongside each and every one of you as we move forward developing Christ followers who love, grow, and serve.
Be looking for more details in the days ahead regarding “Vision Week”.
See you Sunday!

Connected…
Wednesday 04/02/2008
We
are all connected. Connected to God. Connected to
Others. We’re connected.
But what does that mean for us on a daily basis? What are you and I supposed to do with that?
Well, over the next three weeks, we are going to be talking about being connected.
Many of us have cell phones – and can’t imagine living without them. I know that I’d be in big trouble without mine. But what does having a cell phone really mean? It means that I desire to be connected with others – I want to be available and be able to get a hold of others. Essentially it comes down to relationships.
That’s what we are going to be talking about – being connected (to God and to Others).
Join us for the next three Sundays and get connected.
I’d also like to give you a “heads up” and mark the calendar. The last week in April (27th through May 1st) we are going to have “Vision Week.”
“What in the world is ‘Vision Week’?” you might ask. Well, come around the Sundays and Wednesdays between now and then an you’ll find out!
